Platform and register

Two things that work together, not two things to choose between

People ask whether SP360 Lite is a cheaper Sales Point 360. It isn't, and the distinction matters before you buy. Sales Point 360 is the platform your business runs on. Lite is a register you add to it for the places a connection can't be relied on. Lite has no accounts of its own — every Lite device belongs to a Sales Point 360 account.

If you need a point-of-sale system, you need Sales Point 360.

If some of your selling happens where the internet doesn't reach — a second till through an outage, a van, a stall, a festival pitch, a rural branch — you add SP360 Lite to that account for those devices. You do not buy Lite instead.

Sales Point 360 — the platform

Your catalogue, staff, customers, inventory, reporting, multi-location management and back office. It is where the business is defined and where the numbers are read. Sold as a subscription across six plan tiers.

SP360 Lite — a register

A till that completes a full sale with no network at all: correct prices, discounts, tax, receipt, cash drawer. It syncs into your account when it next gets a signal. Licensed per device, on top of a subscription.

Answer one question about where you sell

A shop with reliable internet

Sales Point 360 on its own. The platform already handles brief drops. You do not need Lite until a device regularly sells where there is no signal at all.

Outages you plan around

Sales Point 360, plus Lite on the tills that must keep trading. When the line or the power to the router goes, those registers carry on and reconcile afterwards.

You sell away from the shop

Sales Point 360, plus a Lite device for the van, the stall, the festival pitch or the rural branch. It rings up all day with no connection and syncs when it returns.

Worth being clear about

Lite is an add-on, not a plan

There is no way to run a business on SP360 Lite alone. It has no accounts, no back office and no reporting of its own — it is deliberately just the register. It pairs to a store and a register that already exist in your Sales Point 360 account, and it syncs into them. If you are comparing it against a subscription, you are comparing the wrong two things.

Your first Lite device is included from the Starter plan up; additional devices are $12 per device per month. They are counted separately from your plan’s register limit.
